Scanning does not work in ABBYY FineReader Express for Mac

Your scanner is not dispalyed in the Get Images From menu.

First of all, make sure that the appropriate scanner driver has been installed and the scanner is connected properly.

This can be easily tested by running any other application that requires a  scanner, for example Image Capture, which is available on any Mac OS X computer. If you can’t scan images in other applications, this means that no scanner driver is installed or it is not working properly. For advice on installing the scanner driver, please refer to the support service of the manufacturers of your scanner.

If you can scan images from within Image Capture, make sure that you are using the latest version of ABBYY FineReader Express. To see if any updates are available, select ABBYY FineReader Express > Check for Updates.
If you can’t scan images even after you have updated the program, please contact the ABBYY technical support service.

Please note, that ABBYY FineReader Express does not support network scanners. For correct scanning within ABBYY FineReader Express the scanner should be connected to your Mac via USB.
