When creating a PDF file from a MS Office document the "Add-on not loaded" error occurs


One of the following error messages appears when converting Microsoft Office documents to PDF in ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0:

 "<path_to_the_file> has not been converted.
Add-on not loaded. Please try again later.
"<path_to_the_file> has not been converted.
Cannot find the add-on. Please reinstall ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0.


ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0 is not compatible with the 64-bit version of Microsoft Office 2010.

If you encounter this problem while using a 64-bit version of Microsoft office 2010, we recommend using the PDF X-Change 4.0 for ABBYY virtual printer to create PDF Documents from Microsoft Office documents.

You can use PDF X-Change 4.0 for ABBYY to create PDF documents in any program that lets you select a printer for printing documents.

You can find more information about PDF X-Change 4.0 for ABBYY in the Help file of ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0. Click the  button in the upper-right corner of the window and select ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0 to open the help file, and then open the Creating PDF documents chapter and select the Creating PDF documents from within other applications.

If you're using Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Office 2007 or a 32-bit version of Microsoft Office 2010, follow the steps below to fix this problem.

  1. Download the installer by clicking this link.
  2. Uninstall the old version of ABBYY PDF Transformer.
  3. Install the new version from the installer you downloaded.

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Select the Control Panel item.
  3. Select the Programs and Features item (in Window Vista and Windows 7) or Add or Remove Programs item (in Windows XP).
  4. Select Microsoft Office in the list of currently installed programs.
  5. Click the Change button.
  6. Select the Repair option in the window that appears and click the Continue button.
