Scanned images are defective


Scanned images are incomplete, contain black stripes or white fields, or are split into parts.


Follow the instructions below to fix this problem.

  1. Start ABBYY FineReader.
  2. Open the Tools menu and select Options
  3. Select the Scan/Open tab.
  4. The Driver drop-down list should contain several scanner drivers. Try finding a driver that works by scanning an image using each one of them.

If none of them work, try scanning using the scanner's interface instead of the interface of ABBYY FineReader.

  1. Open the Tools menu and select Options.
  2. Select the Scan/Open tab.
  3. Select the Use native interface option. 
  4. Click OK.
  5. Try scanning an image using each one of the available drivers. If none of them work, please contact technical support.
