Recovering the status of Per Seat licenses in ABBYY Lingvo x3/x5/x6

Description

When the licensing server is moved or renamed, the statuses of Per Seat licenses in use on workstations are lost. This article explains how these statuses can be recovered.

Solution

If the License Server was renamed or moved, you can restore the statuses of the licenses on it. After a license's status is restored, the License Manager's data on activated workstation licenses is refreshed. If the status of a license that shares a serial number with other licenses is restored, the statuses of the other licenses will be restored as well.

1. Start ABBYY Lingvo x3/x5 License Manager.
2. Select a serial number and click the Recover Status button.
3. Follow the instructions in the Recovery Wizard.

There are three ways to recover the status of a license.
― Via the Internet
The license is renewed automatically. This process requires an internet connection and usually completes quite quickly.
― By e-mail
If you select this method, you will have to send an automatically generated e-mail message containing information required for status restoration to ABBYY. We will reply with an e-mail message containing a file that can be used to restore licenses. Specify the path to this file in the corresponding field in the License Status Recovery Wizard to restore the status of your licenses.
Note. Please do not change the contents of the generated e-mail message. You will not get a timely reply from our e-mail robot if the contents of this message were altered.
― By e-mail from another computer
If your computer does not have an internet connection, the License Status Recovery Wizard will help you create a file with information required for status recovery. You can send this file to the address specified in the wizard from a computer that has an internet connection. In reply, you will receive an automatically generated e-mail message with a file that can be used for status recovery. Copy this file to the computer in question, then specify the path to the file in the corresponding field in the License Status Recovery Wizard. 
After recovery the statuses of licenses currently in use on workstations will be marked by an asterisk (*). The status of a license will not indicate which workstation it is assigned to.
4. Re-install ABBYY Lingvo x3/x5/x6 on all effected workstations.
The statuses of licenses used on workstations will change to Activated on <name of workstation>.
Note.
To view all licenses that were used on a given workstation:
1. Click the Find button in ABBYY Lingvo x3/x5 License Manager.
2. Type the name of the workstation and click OK.
