"Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" error message when opening reports

Cообщение "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" при открытии отчетов

When a report is opened in the Administration and Monitoring Console of ABBYY FlexiCapture 10, the following error message appears: "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation."

Solution

This message can appear in two cases.

Case 1. The Administration and Monitoring Console and Crystal Reports use different word sizes (i.e. one is a 32-bit application, the other is a 64-bit application).

1. Check if your version of Crystal Reports is a 32-bit or 64-bit application.
2. Check if the Administration and Monitoring Console is running as 32-bit or as a 64-bit application.

Check whether "Enable 32-bit applications" is enabled for the application pool of the Administration and Monitoring Console:

3. Clear or select the "Enable 32-bit applications" option so that the bit mode of the Administration and Monitoring Console is the same as the bit mode of Crystal Reports
4. Restart the application pool using the commands on the shortcut menu and re-open the reports.

Case 2. Another version of Crystal Reports is installed on the computer. This version is incompatible with ABBYY FlexiCapture10.

1. Check if there is a version of Crystal Reports other than Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2008 or 2010 installed on your computer.

2. If this is the case, uninstall the version and restart your computer.

3. Re-open the reports.
