ABBYY FineReader 11 add-ins aren't displayed in Microsoft Office

Description

ABBYY FineReader 11 add-ins aren't displayed in Microsoft Office applications.

Solution

For Microsoft Office 2003

  1. Launch the application that isn't displaying the add-ins.
  2. Open the Tools menu, select the Customize item, and open the Toolbars tab.
  3. Select the ABBYY FineReader 11 checkbox.
  4. Click OK. Check if the ABBYY FineReader add-ins are properly displayed.

If this didn't help or if ABBYY FineReader wasn't in the list, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Tools menu and select the Templates and Add-Ins item.
  2. Select the FR11.<application name>.Tmpl.dot checkbox.
    <application name> is the name of the Microsoft Office application that isn't displaying the add-ins, for example Word.

If FR11.<application name>.Tmpl.dot is not in the list, the add-ins weren't installed properly, and you should re-install ABBYY FineReader to fix this issue.


For Microsoft Office 2007

  1. Launch the application that isn't displaying the add-ins.
  2. Click the Office Button Office Button  in the upper left corner of the screen.
  3. Click the <application name> Options button (where <application name> is the name of the Microsoft Office application you're currently working with) at the bottom of the menu and select the Add-ins item.
  4. Select Disabled Items from the Manage drop-down list.
  5. Click the Go button.
  6. If ABBYY FineReader 11 <application name> COM Add In is in this list, remove it and click the OK button.
    <application name> is the name of the Microsoft Office application that isn't displaying the add-ins, for example Word

If ABBYY FineReader add-ins weren't in the list of disabled add-ins, check if they are installed. Follow these steps:

  1. In the Microsoft Office application that isn't displaying the add-ins, open the <application name> Options menu (where <application name> is the name of the Microsoft Office application you're currently working with) and select the Add-ins item.
  2. Select the Com Add-ins item from the Manage drop-down list.
  3. Click the Go button.
  4. Select the ABBYY FineReader 11 <application anme> COM Add In check box.
  5. Click the OK button.

If ABBYY FineReader 11 <application name> COM Add In is not in the list, the add-ins were not installed properly, and you should re-install ABBYY FineReader to fix this issue.


For Microsoft Office 2010

Open the Microsoft Office Application that isn't displaying the add-ins. If there is no ABBYY FineReader 11 tab in the ribbon, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the File menu.
  2. Click the Options button at the bottom of the menu and select the Customize Ribbon item.
  3. Select the Main Tabs item from the Customize the Ribbon drop-down list.
  4. Select the ABBYY FineReader 11 check box.
  5. Click OK.

If this didn't help, follow the instructions below:

  1. Open the File menu.
  2. Click the Options button at the bottom of the menu and select the Add-ins item.
  3. Select the Disabled Items item from the Manage drop-down list.
  4. Click the Go button.
  5. If ABBYY FineReader 11 <application name> COM Add In is in this list, remove it and click OK.
    <application name> is the name of the Microsoft Office application that isn't displaying the add-ins, for example Word.

If ABBYY FineReader add-ins weren't in the list of disabled add-ins, check if they are installed. Follow these steps:
