Description

When Microsoft Word is started, the following error message appears: 

Requested member of the collection does not exist.

Solution
  1. Start the registry editor:
    • In Windows Vista and Windows 7, open the Start menu, type regedit in the Search programs and files field and press the Enter key.
    • In Windows XP, open the Start menu, select the Run item, type regedit in the Open field of the Run dialog and press the Enter key.
  2. Find the following subkey in the registry and select it:
    • If Microsoft Office 2007 produced the error:
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data
    • If Microsoft Office 2010 produced the error:
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Data
  3. Delete the selected registry subkey.
