Error message during installation "Access to file C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp\rollback is denied"

Description

The following error message appears during installation: Access to file C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp\rollback is denied

Solution

If antivirus software is running on your computer, disable it and try to install ABBYY FineReader again.

If the problem persists, change the values of the TMP and TEMP environment variables before making another attempt to install ABBYY FineReader.

To change environment variables, complete the steps below.

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Right-click My Computer
  3. Select the Properties item from the shortcut menu.
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. Click the Environment Variables button.
  6. Select the TMP variable in the User variables section.
  7. Click the Edit button.
  8. Specify a new value for the variable, for example C:\Temp.
  9. Select the TEMP variable in the User variables section and repeat steps 7 and 8.
  10. Install ABBYY FineReader.
